ANZ Names New Chief Executive For US Business, Seeks Replacement For Japan Head

ANZ Bank, part of , has appointed a new chief executive for its business in the US, reporting to Farhan Faruqhui, group executive for the international business. 

Knuckey’s appointment means that he leaves his CEO role for Japan; the bank said it is searching for a replacement and will announce this in due course.

In a career that has seen Knuckey work at ANZ for over 20 years, he has spent 15 years in Asia. Stints have included leadership roles at ANZ in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar; he has also been deputy head and head of institutional business in China. 

Knuckey starts his US role by early April, subject to regulatory approval, and be based in New York. He replaces Truett Tate, who is retiring.
